Hi I registered yesterday with these credentials, but today I can’t login and if I ask for a new password it tells me the user don’exist.
Then I tried to register again and I get username and email already existing.
In the meanwhile I uploaded a couple of photos and I have no idea if they went through or not at this point.

    Could you please help ?

    Thanks

      Davide-
I’m afraid there is no reason to log in. Maybe someday, but at this point, there is not a reason. Sorry for the confusion.
I see that one picture of yours came in, The Way. I am going through the night’s submissions now.
      Thank you for the submission.

    Magnificent imagery. 2 comments.

    1. Looks like Knox did each image with his name at the top of the page, when as I understand it, the name at the bottom did the photo/art.

    2. Would be nice to get some basic information as to how the image was created… I.e. phone-camera, software used, etc.

    3. Love the images!

    - James

    • Knox says:

James- tying images to the contributors has been an issue since day one. it was an issue at 1000 images and it’s a bigger issue at 11,000+. If you know anybody who is an expert in php and MySql who would donate some time to rectify this, I’d love it.
In my experience, if you post a question about an image in the comments, most artists are happy to share. I cannot conceive of an easy way to build a “describe the apps and process” into an app. Not with the range of artists and their respective workflows.
      Glad you like the work.

      • James says:

I can see the problem. Its just that the work is so incredible it is crying for a brief dialog/explanation/feedback from the artist. Good for them, good for you, good for the art.

Your blog is done with a WordPress theme. Yeah, maybe another template… but it would involve more maintenance/input on your groups part not to mention the time spent in redesign. ugh.

I have a friend who has a Blog you should look at. You will appreciate it. http://lifedzined.com. A Drupal theme site. Good stuff too… more related to interior design with some fine art… photos with brief summaries under the photos.

        • Knox says:

A redesign is coming. Launching another related site first. But that does not solve the issue of attaching email/user accounts to 11ooo people! :)
          I like your friend’s site.

Is this website strictly for photography? Or can we submit illustrations/drawings done on the iPhone and processed with photo apps?

  4. Tess says:

Hi. Simple question – how do I get my avatar into my profile on this site? Thanks. And thanks for the Daily Pic honour. Most chuffed. T

  5. janine1968 says:

Quick, easy question; I understand you’d like only five images submitted. Is this limit daily? Weekly? Monthly?

Btw, so excited to have found this site! :-)

    • Knox says:

The limit of five is a long gone guideline from our first call for submissions. I’ve never gotten around to changing it, I’m afraid. Victim of my own success with the site. :) There is not limit to the number of images you can submit, but I can tell you that if you submit too many at one time, they tend to get lost in the shuffle.
I would prefer if you use PixelEx to upload images. When you email them, I have to download and manually upload each one. I can barely keep up with the PixelEx submissions.
Lastly, please know that P1xels is a very heavily curated site. Meaning: a lot of pictures do not get published, so please don’t be offended if some of yours don’t make it.
Thank you for submitting, and welcome to P1xels!

I am very new to the site (thank you!!!) and I hate to ask a question that may have already been answered but is there a way to change the “trackback” link to go back to my website?

  7. Does anyone know how to change an avatar here?? Thanks!

    • Knox says:

Your avatar comes from wordpress.com or wordpress.org … not sure which. i tried to install a system so people could change their avatars here. I promise you will be able to do it when I do the next upgrade. :) -Knox

    • Knox says:

Cindy – I see you have an avatar now. How did you do it? Thanks. – Knox

  8. Sunie says:

i bought the app and it accidently got deleted…when i try to restore it in itunes it asks me to buy it again?

    what can i do

  9. Hello Knox,
Still learning to navigate your site…I found my images once but now cannot figure out how to get back there. On one page there was a search but cannot find it again. My images are posted under the image name? Right? Is there a place where all my images will be stored?
    Karen

    • Knox says:

You can do a search for your name as well, Karen. In the new site, if it ever gets done, all images will be attached to the user account (you registered on the site, right?) and so then you will be able to just click on your name & get an array of your pictures.

  10. Romagirl says:

Hi Knox, I uploaded 5 photos today but there seemed to be a hiccup while the 4th and 5th images were being uploaded. Is there a way of knowing if all 5 made it to you? Thanks!

  11. Poco Artist says:

Are images posted only on the day they are submitted, or do you archive some for future consideration ?

Also, a thumbs up and high five to Knox Bronson for creating such an awesome site for showcasing quality iPhoneography.

  12. Brian Eaves says:

How do i upload 3 images at a time with the App?

  13. Robin Hagy says:

First, excited to be a part of this site. I posted a total of 6 iphone pics through the iphone app yesterday, and noticed only 3 have been officially posted. Is it just a matter of time for the others to post? I wasn’t sure if maybe some don’t get posted. thank you !

    • Knox says:

Robin – All images are curated on this site. Many pictures do not get posted. Some people don’t like this. But it’s the only way I can think of to keep the quality of the images to be the absolute best out there and ensure that Pixels does not devolve into a flickrish gallery site. I hope you can live with that. :) Thank you for inquiring. And welcome to Pixels. -Knox

      • Robin Hagy says:

I appreciate your response. No concern with that at all. Just want to make sure I was doing the download appropriately. Looking forward to being inspired by all the talent in this forum. -Robin

  14. Skip Hunt says:

    Hi,

I have images in the collection from what I think is about a year ago. When they come up in the app they say "Unknown" for the artist. I think there was some issue when the app was first launched, but I'm wondering if there's a way I can login and correct that myself?

Also, I just uploaded new images via the app that are showing up now but the category is marked as "Unknown". Is there a way I can correct that? I didn't see any setting in the app and when I log on to the site I just get the usual WordPress back end but I don't see anywhere I can edit details of images I've uploaded.

Not a big deal, but if there's a way I can correct these myself it'd be nice to know. :-)

    • Knox says:

Well, Skip, I am trying to find a corporate sponsor who will bankroll developing PixelEx into the app it should be for both iPad and iPhone I need $5K, so if you can think of anybody, it would be much appreciated. The original app was written for free by a very nice guy in Bosnia who has not made much on the sale price.
As far as managing your own photos, it's been coming for a long time, but also delayed due to lack of development funds. If you have a category you'd like those cat pieces in, let me know, I'll change it.

      • Skip Hunt says:

No worries at all Knox! Just wondering if I was missing something. So, does that mean you're setting the categories?

Is it better to upload via the app or via email?

Again, no worries at all. Just checking to see if I was missing something. Cheers, Skip

  15. Knox says:

You have done nothing wrong. There is a backlog of pictures. With the Apple announcement, and the Cult of Mac piece, images have been pouring in. We are trying to keep up, but are having to prepare for the Apple event at the same time. Your patience is much appreciated. Thank you.

  16. emden09 says:

What have I done wrong? None of my submitted pictures was published until today. I submitted them with the iphone app. Something wrong with that? Last one was titled "hotel room living" and uploaded at 22nd of September 2010 late in the evening GMT.
