Roger Clay ~ Phoenix Sky

Great shot, perfectly cropped. Love the gradation of the sky from blue to amber, really odd, now that i think about it. Wonderful capture of the jagged streak of clouds shimmering like gold flake in the dusk, and lens flare of sun on the horizon. What is that odd building out in the middle of nowhere?

The composition is amazing, encouraging the eye to keep moving, and every section of the image holds interest. A whole lot going on, and nothing, at the same time. Work of man transient, temporary: absorbed into the slow millennia of the elements.

Strangely, since I grew up in a family of tree-huggers, I find the finishing touch here to be the three telephone lines that seem to stretch right up into the stratosphere.
